Yesterday, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce held a meeting to discuss ongoing issues in the Telugu film industry, such as film ticket prices, OTT releases, and other issues and roadblocks in Tollywood.
The main topic of discussion yesterday was the increased ticket prices, the OTT window, and some strict implementations of the same.
One topic discussed was having all small-budget films released on OTT with a four-week gap. All medium and large-budget films should be released digitally 10 weeks after theatrical release.
Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) representatives voted on Monday to allow OTT to release big-budget films after eight weeks and small-budget films after four weeks of theatrical release. TFCC secretary Mutyala Prasad revealed to the media that discussions were held on OTT releases, ticket price issues, the virtual print fee (VPF) charges, working conditions, fighter's federation issues, and production costs. Resolutions on movie releases on OTT platforms and other issues were passed, he said, adding that they would be forwarded to the producers' council in Hyderabad.
