The short film 'Robusta' captures the attention of the audience. This is by bringing the direct image of modern society in front of them through a different theme. The plot of the film is about how some caste thoughts and untouchability that were seen, felt, and passed unnoticed are reflected in society. 'Robusta', which is only nine minutes long, has already won awards at many international festivals.
The Best Indian Short Film Award at the 11th Dada Sahib Phalke Short Film Festival, the Best Director Award at the 13th CSFFK Festival organised by the Kerala Film Academy and Contact, the Best Cinematography Award at the MITEE Pune Festival, the Best Poster Award at the FFTG International Poster Contest held in New York, and many other awards have been achieved. Directed by Tito P. Thangachan, the film is assisted by Anand Shankar. The film is produced by Rabin Ranji.
The film deals with the serious topic of the 20th century claiming to be at the pinnacle of progress. But the gap between people remains unchanged, not only in terms of money but also in terms of caste.
Realistically shot, 'Robusta' is characterised by the use of sync sound. An attempt has been made to present a group of fresh-faced people in the beauty of the countryside. These are the first times I've been in front of the camera. The film 'Robusta' was completed in six hours in a single location during the COVID situation.
