Nikhil Dwivedi slams Bollywood actors posting Maldives pictures, calls it 'plain stupidity and self observed'

After the actor-director Nikhil Dwivedi tests positive for Covid-19, he has been self quaranting at his residence. On Monday, he took to his social media handle and slammed Bollywood actors who are holidaying in Maldives and more so, posting pictures from there. Replying to a tweet of a journalist, Nikhil called the actors "self-observed" and posting pictures during the stressful time of the pandemic "plain-stupidity".

"Absolutely. Then we r surprised at the suddenness of the backlash the movie industry receives for unrelated reasons. We r so self-absorbed &so oblivious to what’s around us tht we appear unempathatic. Let me also assure it’s not like they r heartless, none are.. just plain stupid,” wrote Nikhil. The tweet to which he replied was by journalist Barkha Dutt who thought it is very insensitive of celebrities to post holiday pictures. "With apology to #Maldives but I just cant bear to see one more sun-kissed, rippled water image from there while our COVID numbers surge & jobs plummet. Its sort of the November version of Banana Bread & Celebrities would be be well advised on the tone-deafness of it," she tweeted.

In the last couple of weeks, many Bollywood actors such as Disha Patani, Tiger Shroff, Malaika Arora, Tara Sutaria, etc have been posting pictures from their holiday in Maldives.
