No bum or cleavage shot in 'Kabir Singh': Sandeep Vanga
Filmmaker Sandeep Vanga has said he disagrees with the criticism that his film 'Kabir Singh', starring Shahid Kapoor, glorifies 'toxic masculinity' and added that his film doesn't portray women in a derogatory way. 'There's no bum or cleavage shot. I never asked... audience to look at the girl's body,' he added.
In an interview, Sandeep opened up and put forth his point, “This is not arrogance, but I genuinely do not bother about pseudo-feminists and pseudo-sympathizers. There is not one place where I have shown women in a derogatory way. There is no bum or cleavage shot. I never asked my audience to look at the girl’s body.”
Kabir Singh is the remake of Sandeep’s Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, which had Vijay Deverkonda in the lead, and did exceedingly well at the box office. The film, which stars Kiara Advani as the female lead, is centered around a doctor, who turns into an alcoholic and a drug addict after his college lover breaks his heart. Kabir Singh will release on June 21, and also stars Arjan Bajwa, Suresh Oberoi and more.
