In connection with the money laundering investigation against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi reappeared before the Enforcement Directorate to record her statement. Nora has previously been called numerous times for questioning, and on Friday she was called once again. However, as of the right moment, neither the actress nor her legal counsel has made any public statements.
Jacqueline Fernandez, on the other hand, has also been questioned in this matter in great detail. The ED's charge sheet named the actress as one of the defendants. After paying a personal bond in the amount of Rs. 2 lakh, Jacqueline was granted bail last month. Pinky Irani was arrested by the police earlier this week. Pinky Irani is thought to have introduced Jacqueline Fernandez to Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Sukesh Chandrasekhar is accused by the ED of sending expensive gifts and luxury vehicles to Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi.
The actress was assisting the investigative team by serving as a witness, according to a statement from Nora's representative that was reported in an article by Times Of India. The spokeswoman had stated in a statement: “Nora Fatehi has been the victim around the case and being a witness, she is cooperating and helping the officers in the investigation. We would like to make it very clear that she has not been a part of any money laundering activity, she does not know or have any personal connection with the accused, and has been called by ED to strictly help with the investigation.”
Sukesh Chandrashekar is presently jailed, for those who are unaware. He is suspected of defrauding several people, including some well-known figures like Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh.
