Aamir Khan may be on a sabbatical but he has generated a lot of interest among directors down south and there are a lot of offers for the star. Following the release of Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan declared earlier this year that he would take a year off from acting. The actor stated that he has spent over 30 years of his life creating films. This has left little time for his family, and he is willing to spend more time with them during the vacation. Aamir also took a break from acting in the official Campeones adaption sport play directed by RS Prassana.
Aamir has been spending time with his family and managing the production scripts that have come his way over the past three months. “Campeones remake is on the way under Aamir Khan Production with Sony Pictures India. The script is locked and it soon moves into the pre-production process. Champeones remake will go on floors by March and the script has got Aamir Khan’s stamp of approval,” according to a person familiar with the project. The source also stated that the script has been modified over the past two years to reflect Indian sensibilities. “It’s a heartfelt tale of how a drunkard reinvents himself by coaching a team of specially-abled people in a sport. It has got lots of humor, with drama and slice-of-life elements,” the source added.
Aamir's production front is in order, but he is also being inundated with bids from the South. “Madhu Mantena is trying to crack Ghajini 2 with AR Murgadoss. The process is on for the last few years, but there isn’t an outcome on the same as of now. Efforts are being made to bring Ghajini back. It’s a loved film with a character that has the potential for a franchise. Madhu is also trying to connect with several other directors from the South. It is for a possible collaboration with Aamir in lead,” according to a source familiar with the situation. A gangster drama starring Jr. NTR has already been revealed by Prashanth Neel.
