Oscars 2021: Priyanka Chopra's The White Tiger loses Best Adapted Screenplay award to The Father

The 93rd Academy awards have finally arrived and the awards are being announced to some of the best performers of the year. Since we had our eyes glued on the nomination of the Best Adapted Screenplay of the year, since it had The White Tiger's nomination in it, unfortunately the film didn't win big. Ramin Bahrani directorial film The White Tiger lost the award of the Best Adapted Screenplay to the film The Father which has been directed by Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller.

The Netflix's film The White Tiger was based on the Booker prize winning book of the same name. It starred actors such as Priyanka Chopra, Rajkummar Rao, Gourav Adarsh, etc in the lead roles. It became the first Indian produced film to be nominated at the Oscars since the film was produced by none other than Priyanka Chopra's home production called The Purple Pebble.

Before the announcement of the big award, PeeCee had wished Ramin good luck on her Instagram handle. Other films which were up for nomination for this category were The Father, The Nomadland, One Night In Miami and Borat Subsequent Movie Film.
