Amazon Prime Video's latest Indian crime thriller show Paatal Lok became an instant success with fans around the world. Fans have loved the show for its realistic and groundbreaking portrayal of Indian media and its politics combined with the underworld. Many have also congratulated the show's creators Sudip Sharma and Anushka Sharma. Anushka produced Paatal Lok under her banner Clean Slate Productions.

Now the creator of the show has confirmed that he is working on a script for the second season already. A fresh source reported saying, "Unlike the first part that had its roots in a book, creator-writer Sudip Sharma and the creative team are developing an original plot for the second installment. The narrative will again revolve around Jaideep's character Hathiram Choudhary as he investigates a new case. Right now, it is at a nascent stage of development."
There is still no official confirmation for the show's sequel but looking at its current track record it is certain to get a sequel. Anushka Sharma has not yet revealed if she will also produce the next season of the show.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla Jaideep also shared his own knowledge about the show's possible sequel. He said, "Of course, there’s a possibility. As far as I know, the hint that I have gotten is that Sudip (Sharma, show creator) sir is already working on it [scripting season 2]. I hope it happens and I would love to take the story forward.”
“It might be a different case or the continuation of the same case as season 1, I don’t know. But, I would love to play Hathiram again. His involvement has just started. Hathiram has just entered the game. We feel that he will finally start now. Now, things are in his favour,” he added.
