The trailer for the upcoming movie "The Storyteller," which stars A-list actors Tannishtha Chatterjee, Paresh Rawal, Adil Hussain, and Revathy, dropped on Monday. The movie is up for competition for the 27th Busan International Film Festival, which runs from October 5 to October 14, 2022.
It will compete for the prestigious "Kim Jiseok" prize. The plot of this Satyajit Ray short story adaptation is the story of a wealthy businessman who hires a storyteller to help him overcome his sleeplessness. As new twists get into it, the story becomes more intriguing.
Ananth Mahadevan, who directed the National Award-winning film "Mee Sindhutai Sapkal" before this, commented on the occasion in a statement, saying, "The selection of 'The Storyteller' at the Busan International Film Festival in Competition is indeed prestigious and is a big step forward for Indian cinema in meeting global standards."
Jio Studios, in collaboration with Purpose Entertainment and Quest Films, produced the movie. One of Ray's many tales based on the mysterious Tarini Khuro figure he developed is the original Bengali short story "Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro."
