David Dhawan is reviving his 1995 film Coolie No 1 with his son Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan as lead actors.
Sources say that the director-producer has roped in Paresh Rawal for the film.
According to reports, Paresh will join Sara and Varun to start kick start the shooting of the film on August 5 in Bangkok. Paresh will shoot with the lead actors for 20 days in Bangkok.
A source close to the development told the daily, "After wrapping up the overseas shoot, the team flies to Goa to finish another big schedule of the film."
The source added, "He plays the role of Sara’s father, Hoshiyar Chand, and the humour in the film revolves around his part. While the role in the original film was more in the orthodox zone, the new one has been tweaked as per modern sensibilities."
After their Bangkok schedule, the team will travel to Goa for a schedule. The original film revolved around Govinda's character, a coolie, who is pretending to have a lavish life and end up getting in between a love triangle with two girls.
