Dhanush was last seen in director Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Enai Noki Paayum Thota, which received a lukewarm response from the critics and audience. The film was lying on the shelves for about three years before hitting the theatres. Now, the actor is waiting for the release of his upcoming film Pattas.
Earlier, reports were rife that the film will release worldwide on January 16. Recently, the makers submitted the film at the censor board for certification. The members watched the film and issued a U certificate for the film. Since the film has received a U certificate, the makers have now fixed a new release date.
Going by the posts, the makers have advanced the release date by a day and facilitated the film’s release in January 15. This will ensure that the film will have a four day gap for the opening weekend. The trailer of the film has impressed the audience and hence they will flock to the theatres to watch the commercial entertainer.
The film will face a stiff competition at the box office with Dhanush’s father-in-law’s Darbar. Though Rajinikanth’s film released on January 9, the film will continue to rock the theatres because it is Pongal weekend. Let’s wait and see who will win the battle between Rajinikanth and Dhanush.
