Pawan Kalyan's blockbuster film Jalsa completes 12 years of its release

Writer-director Trivikram Srinivas made his directorial debut with the film Nuvve Nuvve. He then proved his mettle by directing the action thriller Athadu in 2005. Athadu was a commercial failure, but became a cult movie among the audience when it premiered on television. However it was the 2008 film Jalsa which gave Trivikram the first blockbuster at the box office. Starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, Jalsa had hit the screens on April 2nd, 2008. It completes 12 years of its release today. On this occasion, let us have a look back into it.

 
Jalsa featured Ileana D'Cruz as the female lead. Kamalinee Mukherjee and Parvathi Melton have also essayed key roles in the film. It traces the story of Sanjay Sahu, who is a happy-go-lucky guy, and how his life turns out when he falls in love with two sisters. It also featured Pawan Kalyan in the role of a Naxalite. Jalsa is also popular for its well-recieved comedic scenes. The scenes between Pawan Kalyan and Brahmanandam are still enjoyed by the audiences.
 
Even the music composed by Devi Sri Prasad was a big hit in those times. All the tracks in the film were chartbusters. Be it Jalsa's title song, or "My Heart is Beating" or "You and Me", all of them still remain in the playlists of many fans. Jalsa was produced by Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts. It also gave Pawan Kalyan a success after a gap of seven years. Jalsa was the first film featuring the combination of Trivikram and Pawan. After that, they teamed up for two more films, Atharintiki Daaredi and Agnyathavaasi.
