Superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta and Ajith’s Viswasam is battling it out at the box office starting from January 10. Both the films are facing neck to neck competition and we will have to wait and see who will emerge as the winner.
Usually, premiere and early morning shows are scheduled for big star films and the tickets for these shows are over priced. Likewise Petta and Viswasam were sold at higher price across Tamil Nadu.
It is said that a few theatres in Madurai have been caught for selling tickets at exorbitant rates, as opposed to the rated specified by the government.
The Madurai Bench it the High Court has ordered officials to set up a team to investigate 22 theatres in Madurai about the pricing they fixed for the shows of Petta and Viswasam. This team will have people representing Income Tax Department, Corporation officials and lawyers.
In Chennai, many theatres sold the tickets for Petta and Viswasam as high as Rs 2000. However, people were willing to shell out a huge sum to watch their favourite stars on screen.
