The new poster of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan Part -1 featuring Trisha has been released today. The newly released poster features Trisha as Princess Kundavai in a majestic and elegant look. Sharing the poster, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan, Lyca Production, wrote on Twitter, "In a world of men, a woman of courage. Presenting Princess Kundavai!"
Reports say that the teaser of Ponniyin Selvan will be launched tomorrow at a grand function happening in Chennai. Stars across the industries will participate in the event. As per earlier reports, the makers of the film were planning to conduct the teaser launch at Thanjavur, the capital of the Chola dynasty. But as per insider reports, the venue has been changed to Chennai for tomorrow's function.
Ponniyin Selvan is based on an epic novel of the same name by the famous writer Kalki Krishnamurthy. The screenplay was written by Mani Ratnam and B. Jayamohan. The film Ponniyin Selvan will feature a star cast including Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Thrisha, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Ashwin Kakumanu, apart from Vikram. A. R Rahman composes Ponniyin Selvan’s score and soundtrack. Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, along with Subashkaran under the banner of Lyca Productions, produce the film. The cinematography of the film is done by Ravi Varman and the cuts are by Sreekar Prasad. Ponniyin Selvan is also the biggest budget film in India with a total budget of 500 crores. The film will have a worldwide theatrical release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on September 30.
