Popular Malayalam television actor Ravi Vallathol passed away

The Malayalam film industry faced a sudden shock earlier this morning. Popular television actor and writer Ravi Vallathol passed away earlier this morning. The actor was 67. He breathed his last at his residence in Vazhuthacaud area of Thiruvananthapuram. The whole industry mourned on his loss.

 
According to the reports, Ravi died due to a sudden heart attack, caused by acute diabetes. He was also undergoing treatment for Alzheimer's disease in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. Ravi survived with his wife Geethalakshmi. Both of them got married in January 1980. They had no children. They used to run an organization called Thenaal. This NGO works for mentally challenged people.
 
Ravi was born on November 25th, 1952. He is the eldest son of the popular writer, TN Gopinath Nair. Ravi made his acting debut with 1986 serial Vaitharani. This serial used to get aired on the Doordarshan Malayalam channel. This also happens to be the first-ever serial made in Malayalam. It got scripted by Ravi's father Nair.
 
Ravi made his film debut with the 1987 film Swathi Thirunal. This film got directed by Lenin Rajendran. Later, he went on to act in many other popular films like Nalu Pennungal, Vidheyan, Nizhalkkuthu, and Sagaram Sakshi. In his entire career, Ravi acted in over 100 serials and 46 movies. He also worked on many projects as a scriptwriter. Ravi had also written about 25 short stories. Revathikkoru Pavakkutty, a stage play written by him, was later adapted as a movie. The Malayalam entertainment industry is quite shocked by the sudden loss and paid condolences to his family.
