Popular Netflix show Money Heist has both good and bad influences on the viewers

If you are asked to pick five of the best television series in the past half-decade, chances are that Money Heist will be one of them. This Spanish heist thriller amassed a cult following among audiences across the world. The Netflix series got this wide popularity even though it is a non-English show. It traces the story of a gang of criminals who set off to conduct what is supposed to be the biggest heist in the world. It is not the heist element, however, that has made the show so popular. It is the character arcs and the emotional quotient between the characters, which made the series a popular one among the viewers. Many people wondered if it is a true story. It isn't, but ithas captured audiences' imaginations just as well as a ture story might. It is also influencing people in both good and bad ways.

It is a fictional drama and not based on any real happenings. Creator Alex Pina was keen on working on a heist or comedy story, after wrapping up the series Locked Up. He first created Money Heist as a limited series. But over time, it went bigger, and when Netflix got involved, the series found itself a platform to reach wider sections of the audiences.

Money Heist also has a negative influence on the viewers. Many viewers apparently tried to pull off robberies and heists by getting inspired by this series. In Istanbul, five people committed 13 robberies in a span of two months. When they got caught, they said that they were inspired by Money Heist. In 2018, two people committed robberies in France by wearing masks, just like in the series.

On the other side, there are also people who used Money Heist masks to protest against the governments. It all depends on how you perceive the story. There is always a positive and negative side to it. At the end of the day, it is just a show and its core purpose is to provide entertainment to the audiences.
