On the occasion of Republic Day, the first look of Prithviraj Sukumaran's new film Karachi 81 got released. The poster looked intriguing featuring Prithiviraj in an older look, hiding behind the Pakistani flag. Speaking about the film, director K.S. Bava said that the film is set in the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War and claimed it as one of the greatest espionage thrillers. Prithviraj will play the role of a South Indian RAW agent in this film.
Bava also said that Prithviraj will don multiple getups in the film. He informed that the old man look in the poster is one among them. Bawa stated that he wrote the script based on the real incidents but added a lot of fictional elements for cinematic purposes. He is trying to make this film for the last five years and finally, it is going to happen this year.
The movie will feature a lot of other leading actors apart from Prithviraj and Tovino Thomas. Thus, it will go on floors towards the end of this year. Bava said that Prithviraj will be busy with Aadujeevitham till September this year and after that, he will shoot for two more films. Hence, Karachi 81 will go on floors mostly in November. The makers are planning to shoot some parts in Karachi but they are not sure if they get permission owing to the current political scenario.
