Visakh's engagement took place in August of this year. Visakh Subramaniam is the grandson of P Subramaniam, the owner of Maryland Studio. This was once a leading production company in Malayalam cinema. Visakh Subramaniam came to film production with Dhyan Srinivasan's directorial debut, "Love Action Drama." It was under the banner of Funtastic Films, which he started with Aju Varghese. Later Sajan Bakery, since 1962, was produced under the same banner. Dhyan became the production partner in this film.
After that, Vishakh started a new production company called Maryland with the film Hridayam, directed by Vineeth Srinivasan and starring Pranav Mohanlal. Along with film production, the group also owns theatres in Thiruvananthapuram. They own Sreekumar, Sreevisakh, and New theatres.
Hridayam was the biggest success of Pranav Mohanlal's career. The film, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Darshana Rajendran as heroines, was also a success at the box office. Visakh said during the release of Visakh's film that "Hridayam" was a dream he and Vineeth had two years ago.
