R Madhavan Talks About A Being Manu In Tanu Weds Manu Again; Says “I Think I Am Done With It”

R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut wooed audiences with the romantic comedy series Tanu Weds Manu. The two movies that featured on-screen romance were incredibly well received by the public. Despite how much people praised the chemistry between the pair, we haven’t seen the return of the third party. When asked the hero, Madhavan, who is now promoting Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, said he wouldn't want to come back as Manu.

In a story by Hindustan Times, Madhavan was quoted discussing the third sequel of Tanu Weds Manu in an interview with well-known YouTuber Jaby Koay. “I think that’s water under the bridge. There is no point in beating a dead horse. You know, it’s so difficult to come up with original stuff, and then there are expectations of a film. See, if it’s a sequel to Avengers or a superhero series, it’s easier because you have a template. But with Tanu Weds Manu, it’s impossible. And I think I am done with it. I don’t want to go back to being Manu now,” he was quoted saying.

The 2011 film Tanu Weds Manu tells the tale of the two central characters, including how they first met and how complicated their relationship became before ending in marriage. In 2015's Tanu Weds Manu Returns, the couple's post-marriage lives were discussed, including their personal problems and the introduction of yet another character named Datto who gives the plot a twist. While the audience had responded positively to the 2011 release, the 2015 movie broke records.

Regarding the upcoming movie Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, it is R Madhavan's first attempt at directing and is based on the biography of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. The film hit theatres on July 1 and is garnering generally positive responses from the audience.
