Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi was arrested by the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch on September 4, 2020. After spending four months in jail, the Supreme Court granted her bail. Back in September 2020, raids were conducted at Ragini's Bengaluru house and arrested her. The Karnataka High Court rejected Ragni Dwivedi's bail plea was rejected multiple times. Ragini Dwivedi's parents were extremely relieved to see her out of prison. Her dad Col. Rakesh Kumar Dwivedi said that the bail reinstates his faith in judiciary.
Speaking to the Times of India, Rakesh Kumar said, "We are delighted that she will finally be home. This is a big matter of relief for us. We are looking at getting all the paper work and procedures in place at the earliest for her release. We want to ensure that she gets adequate and ample rest as of now. We also want her to ensure she takes care of her physical and mental health before she gets back to doing anything else." Ragini was arrested along with several drug peddlers. Another actress Sanjjanaa Galrani was arrested in September 2020 and was recently let out on bail.
