Actor turned director Rahul Ravindran recently put a writer requirement on social media for which he ended up a lot of people sending their samples. Finally, the two-film-old director picked the ones he liked and wrote a heart-felt note to all the others which is a great gesture.
Rahul Ravindran wrote, "A very big thank you. We have shortlisted the number of people we need. Everyone who took the effort to send an entry... please do read the little note in the photo below."
He also wrote a heart-felt note to boost the confidence levels of all the aspiring writers. He wrote, "A big thank you to everyone who took the effort to send in your entries. It was very humbling to see your interest, Please do not be discouraged or get offended if we haven't been able to offer you a job. I had zero contacts in cinema when I quit my job and tried to become an assistant director. I never could. I ended up cracking an audition and becoming an actor. The purpose behind doing this was giving boys and girls in the same situation I was in 12 years back, a chance to get an entry. And am very happy that we have found some talented people. But this does not mean we're passing judgement on your writing skills and talent. We are in a position to give only very few a job opportunity. And we picked the ones that we felt will suit the project. It does not reflect on how good your writing is. I wholeheartedly wish everyone of you much more success than I may achieve in the future. Keep writing."
Rahul Ravindran will soon make an announcement on his next project.
