Rajamouli To Make Mahabharat As A 10-Part Series; That’s My Dream And Every Step I Take Is Towards That

SS Rajamouli, the director of blockbuster films like Baahubali and RRR, has expressed his desire to make a film on the Indian epic Mahabharat. In a recent interview, he revealed that if he ever gets to make the film, he would want it to be a 10-part series to do justice to the epic.

Rajamouli has been vocal about his dream project for years. During the promotion of his last film RRR, he mentioned that he will give a spin on the original Mahabharata in his own way and will only come to the casting part after finishing the script. Speaking about his aspirations for Mahabharat, Rajamouli said, “If I get to the point of making Mahabharat, it would take me a year just to read the versions of Mahabharat that are available in the country. At present, I can only assume that it would be a 10-part film.” He further stated that Mahabharat is the aim of his life and every step he takes is towards that. “Every film I make, I feel that I’m learning something to ultimately make Mahabharat. So that’s my dream and every step is towards that,” he said. Rajamouli also clarified that the characters in his version of Mahabharat would be enhanced, and the inter-relationships between them would be added. He said that he would decide on the cast only after writing his version of the epic. “I know people have made lists of who should play who in the project. But I will decide my characters only after I write my version of Mahabharata,” Rajamouli said. The Indian epic Mahabharat was previously adapted into a popular TV series. It comprised 266 episodes. However, Rajamouli aims to create a cinematic masterpiece that will do justice to the epic tale. His fans are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the much-anticipated project.
