One of the major things that most of the Tamil people are waiting for a long time is the political entry of Superstar Rajinikanth. The actor's political entry is being speculated from 1996 but it didn't happen till now. But a couple of years back, Rajini came in front of the media and said that he will enter politics and float a new party ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections in 2021.
The Assembly Elections of Tamil Nadu will take place in May 2021. According to the latest reports, Rajini is planning to start his new party in April or May this year, exactly a year before the polls. The actor is planning to expand his cadre and take part in extensive campaigning in the gap of that one year. On the other side, another star hero of Tamil and Rajini's best friend, Kamal Haasan has started his own party Makkal Needhi Maiyam but failed to get even a single seat in the parliamentary elections held last year. Now, we have to see whether these two stars untie and contest in the elections or choose their own paths.
On the career front, Rajini is currently acting in his 168th film which is being directed by Siva of Vishwasam fame.
