On October 3, Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). He was arrested along with his friend Arbaz Seth Merchantt and Munmun Dhamecha when the NCB officials busted the Cordelia Cruises ship. Several arrests have been made and the custody of Aryan Khan has made headlines. This has sparked debates about the involvement of star kids and youngers in the consumption of drugs. Several celebrities have expressed their support to Shah Rukh Khan and have been visiting him.
Former actress and parliamentarian Ramya Spandanna took to social media to register her take. She wrote, "The NCB says the organizers were unapproachable therefore we need custody of the consumers - please note NCB has not specified any possession or consumption by Aryan Khan, and yet he is in their custody. The NCB knows the organizers, the NCB can easily get a warrant and take them into question, why hasn't that been done yet? WhatsApp chats are not admissible in court as proof - and the so-called 'confession' doing the rounds is not true because whatever is said to the NCB during questioning cannot be disclosed. If it is true then the NCB is breaking the law. Would the so-called upright officers do that? Don't think so right? They love to put out gossip like 'Deepika Padukone broke down multiple times, 'Aryan Khan cried inconsolably' just out of sheer sadism. During questioning other than the officer no one else is around so how does this go out to the media? Answers must be sought. (sic)."
