Renowned actor Rani Mukerji made an appearance at the opening of fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee's new store in Mumbai. Fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra shared several pictures on Instagram that gave a sneak peek inside the new store. In one of the photos, Rani posed with Sabyasachi and Bibhu. She wore a printed saree and blouse, along with a matching bag. Sabyasachi opted for a white ensemble, while Bibhu was seen in a blue and grey outfit.
Bibhu shared pictures of other guests at the event, including Shobhaa De and Bobby Beard. He also posted pictures showcasing the decor of the store and posed with several guests for photographs. Bibhu captioned the post with congratulatory words for Sabyasachi. He thanked him for weaving them all into his dream. And he added hashtags like Sabyasachi, Mumbai, Colaba and India.
Recently, Rani was seen in the film Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. She played the role of a mother fighting against the state for her children. The movie was based on Sagarika Chakaraborty's book, The Journey of a Mother. The film also stars Neena Gupta, Jim Sarbh, and Anirban Bhattacharya, among others. Rani spoke about her role in the film, stating that she gave her all to portray Sagarika's story on the big screen. Rani drew inspiration from her mother, a Bengali mother, who was fiercely protective of her children, and from Sagarika's life story.
Rani believes that the portrayal of a courageous mother in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway and her career choices so far have made Bengalis living worldwide proud. She feels that this is reward enough for her to keep acting and pushing boundaries as an artist.
