The most recent 67th Filmfare Honours, which were just presented, were certainly a festival of Indian cinema, with numerous films winning significant awards. Some of these movies, including Shershaah and Sardar Udham, took home the majority of the technical accolades. Ranveer Singh received the Best Actor award for his depiction of Kapil Dev in the sports biography '83, which also starred Deepika Padukone as Dev's fictional wife Romi. An internet video from the award show featured a delighted Ranveer Singh inviting Deepika Padukone to the stage as well. Their friend and well-known filmmaker Karan Johar made the announcement. Ranveer received the prize saying, “Ranveer Singh powered by Deepika Padukone.”

 
He continued by thanking everyone and expressing his thanks for being given this honour. This success is only possible because they have faith in me and think I can contribute to “The past few years have been wonderful. This is the 4th Filmfare in about 6 years which is pretty awesome. I have had the privilege of working with some of the finest filmmakers in the country. I credit them with this (trophy). This achievement is only possible because they believe in me and they believe I can be part of their vision and contribute as an artiste and bring to life the story that they want to tell” he said.
 
“This was a very special part and once I am done with my responsibilities here I will call Kapil Dev sir. Just cannot wait to speak to Kapil paaji and connect with him and tell him that this is for him. Winning 5 Filmfare Best Actor awards feels quite incredible and is really humbling”, he added.
 
'83, which was directed by Kabir Khan, included an ensemble cast portraying the 1980s Indian Cricket Team. The movie reenacted India's legendary victory in the 1983 World Cup game, which took place at Lords Stadium and featured their squad vs England. The movie also starred Harrdy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, and Saqib Saleem in addition to Ranveer Singh. The movie was made public in December 2021.
 
Ranveer Singh's next acting project is Rohit Shetty's Cirkus, which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde. In addition, he co-stars with Alia Bhatt in the Karan Johar film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is slated to visit theaters in 2019, while Cirkus is anticipated to arrive by the end of this year.
