Real test for Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi begins!
Mahesh Babu and the team of Maharshi is overwhelmed with the way the film has been received as of now. In four days, the film has collected Rs 100 gross crore worldwide and is still going strong at the box office.
Maharshi’s theme is being appreciated by the fans and many are giving thumbs up to the weekend agriculture idea. However, we will have to wait and see if Maharshi will make a real impact during the weekdays.
As of now, Maharshi has made Rs 63 crores share worldwide and it has to cross 100 crore share to enter into the profit zone. Since the weekdays has started and there are no holidays, we will have to check on the theatre occupancy as there are no government holidays barring summer holidays for schools and colleges. While trade reports are indicating that the Morning Shows and Matinees are already finding decent occupancy, If the movie can sustain during weekdays with decent occupancies it can easily enter into the profit zone.
However, for any movie, it's always repeat audience who magnify the range of the film. As the length of Maharshi is major concern and no chartbuster songs in the movie, Now the biggest challenge for Maharshi is to pull the repeat audience to the theatre without these elements. If Maharshi surpasses 100 crore mark, then Mahesh also will join the elite club of 100 Crore alongside Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan who did the unthinkable with Khaidi No 150 and Rangasthalam.
Despite the mixed reviews, the film had a solid weekend at the box office in Telugu speaking states. However, in the US, the film’s theatrical run is not up to the mark.
