Saroj Khan is one of the iconic choreographers of Bollywood. Saroj has worked with many stars like Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, and Aishwarya Rai. They have set the stage for many songs that fans remember. But Rekha was one of those who found it difficult to work with Saroj Khan.
Saroj Khan shares the memory of working with Rekha once in an interview. when he was working for Sheshnag, a 1990 movie, directed by KR Reddy. Rekha danced in the film. Saroj was the choreographer. The crew was trying to complete the shooting of the film. But Saroj says that Rekha did not agree to give the date to shoot the dance scene.
"The producer gave us a very short time. There was a three-day rehearsal. My team and I used to stay up all night to compose. Then asked to send Rekha Ji. It was a very difficult dance. But she didn't come. They used to say that she was not feeling well or had another shoot,'' says Saroj.
"On the day they arrived, she was wearing make-up but not dressed for the dance. She was in their car. I went to see them. She said She was not feeling well and asked to cancel the shoot. 'You seem allergic to me. I called you to rehearsal and you didn't show up. You come for the shoot but say you are not feeling well. I told her she can tell the producer and change the dance master, tell them "there's something wrong and you can't work with me"
'They suddenly turned away. When they looked back, their eyes were filled with tears. I told her that I was not wrong. Then she asked you feel like shooting?. Saroj replied "I will shoot today itself" and she went to get ready. Saroj said later that Rekha said, "it hurt that I respect you a lot but I don't like you".
