Remuneration Discrimination Questioned, Deepika Out Of Bhansali Film.

Deepika Padukone is out of the film Baiju Bawra directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Deepika has demanded the same salary as Ranveer Singh, her husband, and hero of the film. Deepika left the crew after the producers refused to agree to her demand.

Deepika Padukone is currently the highest-paid actress in the country. It is reported that Deepika has asked not to pay more or less than Ranveer.

According to a report by Bollywood, Hungama Deepika had to play the role of Ranveer’s love interest in the film.

The report states that Deepika had demanded equal pay as Singh. However, Bhansali turned down the request. A source quoted in the report said, “Apparently, Deepika wants the same remuneration as her husband. Not a penny more, not a penny less."

According to the report, the source stated that it works out for the better in some ways. The source said, “In a way, it works out for the better. Four Ranveer – Deepika films in a row from Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have been excessive, don’t you think?”

Earlier, Deepika has worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on films like Baji Rao Mastani and Ram Leela. Ranveer was Deepika's co-star in these films too. Earlier, Deepika had clarified her stance on ensuring equal pay.

Aside from Baiju Bawra, Deepika has a long list of projects on the work front. This includes Fighter, 83, Sanki, Pathan, and an Indian remake of Nancy Meyers’ 2015 hit Hollywood filmThe Intern.
