Renee Zellweger wins Best Actress at Oscars

Popular American actress Renee Zellweger won the Best Actress Award at the prestigious Academy Awards event held a while ago in the Los Angeles. Renee has bagged the Oscar for her performance in the film Judy. This is the second Oscar for Renne out of four total nominations. She had won an Oscar earlier as the Best Supporting Actress for the film Cold Mountain.

 
Judy is a biographical drama on American actress and singer Judy Garland. Rupert Goold has directed it. Renee won the Oscar by topping her fellow nominees, Cynthia Erivo (Harriet), Scarlett Johansson (Marriage Story), Saoirse Ronan (Little Women) and Charlize Theron (Bombshell). During her acceptance speech, Renee said that she doesn't feel any above her fellow nominees and added that they are also very much deserving for this award.
 
She dedicated the award to Judy Garland, on whom the film got made on. Renee said that Judy didn't win an Oscar during her times, but this moment is an extension of her legacy which began on their film sets. She added that Judy is one among the heroes who define us.
 
On the flip side, Parasite won the Best film, Joaquin Phoenix won the Best Actor and Bong Jon-hoo won the Best Director Award at the event.
