One of the renowned musicians in the Malayalam and Telugu film industries is Gopi Sundar. This talented music director composed many hit songs in various languages over the past few years. Today, he celebrates his 43rd birthday. On this occasion, let us have a look back into his career.
Gopi Sundar started off his career by composing jingles for TV commercials. He has composed more than 50,000 jingles. He had also done keyboard programming under Bollywood composer Vishal-Shekhar. Gopi worked for their films like Bluffmaster, Om Shanti Om, and Taxi No: 9211. He made his debut as a composer with the 2006 film Classmates. This film also gave him a big break in the industry. The 2010 film Anwar brought him wide acclaim. Gopi also won a Filmfare Award for this movie. Later, he became one of the busiest music directors in the Malayalam film industry. He went on to compose music for films like Race, The Train, Casanova, Hero, Ustad Hotel, Mumbai Police, Salala Mobiles, 1983, and Bangalore Days. He won a National Award for 1983 and won his second Filmfare Award for Bangalore Days.
Gopi Sundar made his Telugu debut with the 2015 film Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju. Later, he composed for various hit films like Premam, Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy, Oopiri, Majnu, Ninnu Kori, Geetha Govindam, and Majili. He is currently composing music for various Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. Some of his upcoming releases include Nishabdham, 18 Pages, and Most Eligible Bachelor.
