Lanka Bhadadri Sriram, popularly known as LB Sriram, is a well-known character artist in Telugu Cinema. In a career spanning over three decades, he has written and acted in many memorable Telugu films. Today, LB Sriram celebrates his birthday. On this occasion, let us revisit his career.
LB Sriram started off his career with the 1990 film Kokila. He worked as a dialogue writer for it. Directed by Geetha Krishna, this film featured Naresh and Shobana in the lead roles. The film was a success at the box office. He then went on to write for successful films like April 1 Vidudala, Appula Apparao, Aa Okkati Adakku, Varasudu, Hello Brother, Hitler, Omkaram, and Sontha Ooru.
On the acting front, LB Sriram shot to wide fame with the film Chala Bagundi. His role as the heroine's father brought him critical and popular acclaim as well. He later featured in many successful films like Ninne Premista, Azad, Mrugaraju, Adhipathi, Tholi Valapu, Hanuman Junction, Budget Padmanabham, Dil, Aadi, Evadi Gola Vaadidhi, and Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. He won five Nandi Awards in total. He won the award for Best Dialogue Writer for the films Ramasakkanodu and Sontha Ooru. He won Best Comedian Nandi Award for Chala Bagundi and Best Character Artist Award for Sontha Ooru. He won Best Short Film Director Award for the 2016 short film Dolu Sannai.
