Rishab Shetty's Pedro has received much acclaim over the last year. The film was presented with the Prasad Lab DI Award and Moviebuff Appreciation Award at the Film Bazaar in 2019. Pedro happened to be one of five films selected from Asia at the Film Bazaar. The film has now been selected to be screened at the prestigious Goes to Cannes film festival.
Rishab Shetty took to his Twitter to share the news. He wrote, "#Pedro, the film produced under our banner @rishabsfilms and Directed by debutant @NateshHegde has been selected for 'Goes to Cannes' showcase at Marché du Film, one of the largest film markets in the world and counterpart of Cannes film festival. Happy and Proud."
"Pedro was meant for the film festival, and we had completed the shoot. If not for the lockdown, this would have been screened at the Goes to Cannes Film Festival this year. It is now shifted to 2021,” says Rishab.
20 global films will be screened at the Goes to Cannes festival and Pedro is one of them!. The film is the first-ever Kannada film to be selected directly! Pedro follows the tale of a middle-aged electrician who commits a disgraceful act by accident in a remote village. Filmed and set in the western ghats of Karnataka, the film captures the reactions of the villagers to the act. The film was written and directed by Natesh Hegde. Natesh Hedge is known for his short film Kurli. Pedro is his first feature film.
On the work front, Rishab Shetty is looking forward to appearing in Garuda Gamana Vrishaba Vahana, Nathuram, and Cowboy Krishna. He will also direct the film Rudraprayag. The film features Anant Nag as well.
