The father of SS. Rajamouli, the author of "RRR," reportedly admitted in a recent interview with a media outlet that he was extremely disappointed that his movie was not chosen as an official entry for the Oscars this year and that, regrettably, he is unable even to express this disappointment to any media outlet.
However, he admits that it didn't deter him and was really encouraging that his picture would receive at least a few nods at the academy if disputed independently for its making and content. He allegedly said he hoped to receive a few nods in the acting, directing, script, and background music categories.
When asked about the potential of developing a "RRR" sequel, he said Rajamouli asked him to write a story of this genre again. He has begun working on it, but now, he cannot share any further details.
In the interim, "RRR" began garnering a few American honors at film festivals. SS Rajamouli most recently received the New York film critics circle's Best Director Award.
