Sai Pallavi recently gave us a cinematic gem in the form of the courtroom drama Gargi, in which she plays a caring daughter who will go to any extent to protect her father. The Shyam Singha Roy actor excels in every character she plays. During a recent interview with Galatta Plus, she revealed the roles which she wants the most. The actress added that she wants to play characters similar to those she performed in Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani.
She said in an interview, “I imagine myself sometimes, you see a few films, you'll think 'oh, I wish I'd get a role at that moment. I have seen Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani, and sometimes you will think so. I think a part of me felt a little satisfied when I did Shyam Singha Roy and I had to play someone from a different time. It'll be nice if I have a full-fledged role for a longer time."
Returning to Gargi, the project tells the story of Gargi (Sai Pallavi), a schoolteacher whose father disappears one day. She goes out to find his father since she is concerned about his well-being. She later learns that her father has been arrested in connection with the rape of a nine-year-old girl. The doting daughter commences legal proceedings to prove her father's innocence.
In addition, Sai Pallavi will co-star with Sivakarthikeyan as the leading lady. This untitled drama, tentatively titled SK21, is being produced by Kamal Haasan's Raj Films and Sony Pictures Films India. Kamal Haasan will also play a pivotal role in the project.
