Saif Ali Khan made his mark on the digital platform with Netflix's highly successful show Sacred Games. The actor has now signed many more shows and films on various digital platforms. The Pataudi actor will soon appear in a new Amazon Prime Video series. The show is tentatively called Dilli. However, Saif Ali Khan has admitted that he is not very fond of its title. Khan said that he is hoping for a title change before the launch.
He said he wants the show to have a sexier title that conveys more meaning. Speaking to Rajeev Masand the actor said, "I hope it’s not eventually called Dilli. Taandav was the working title that captured more the essence of what the show was about. Dilli is a little Thanda (cold) really. I don’t think we have either titles, Dilli or Taandav. We have to work hard to come up with something a little sexier like House of Cards. Something with a little more poetry to the title than just a geographical location."
The show is a political thriller. It takes inspiration from House of Cards.
"The idea behind the show was that in India we really live politics and we have a strong political system. We have had films like Rajneeti or whatever. Just to have a show set in Lutyen’s Delhi and also JNU--with changed names, of course,” Saif added. He said that the show will deal with themes of dirty politics, student politics, murders, sex scandals, and more.
Ali Abbas Zafar has directed the show for Amazon Prime Video.
