Saina: After the poster of the biopic was trolled, director Amole Gupte steps in to explain it

As Saina Nehwal's biopic is all set to release in theatres, the makers had dropped the poster and the teaser of the film. While some people got excited about the film, others were sceptical about the correctness of the serve which the poster revealed. As the poster was increasingly getting trolled, director Amole Gupte had to step in and he penned a long note explaining the logic behind it.

"Too much speculation in the digital media about the poster 'looks like a tennis serve Saina doing a Sania' etc etc If Saina is the flying shuttle, then clearly, the girl’s hand with the National colours wristband is the hand of the Indian Girl Child aspiring to reach Saina’s height!!!," he wrote.

He further praised Rahul Nanda who designed the poster and wrote, "High Concept Poster by Rahul Nanda has to be unfortunately explained in detail to a quick reacting, impatient world not stopping to think before rubbishing anything!!! Socho!!! (sic).” Too much speculation in the digital media about the poster... “looks like a tennis serve... Saina doing a Sania” etc…The film will release on 26th March in theatres. It has been produced by Bhushan and Krishan Kumar. Stay tuned with us for more latest updates on Bollywood
