Samantha Talks About The Making Of Shaakuntalam

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has given fans an inside look into the making of her latest film, Shaakuntalam, in a recently released video. The Gunasekhar-directed film is set for release on April 14. The film is an adaptation of the acclaimed Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam, written by Kalidasa. Speaking in the video, Samantha revealed that the production of the film was not without its challenges, from her flower allergy to a run-in with a rabbit on set.

In the video, Samantha can be seen traveling in a car, discussing some of the difficulties she faced while shooting the movie. She said that, while she managed to shoot all day without any issues, by the end of the day she had developed an allergic reaction to the flower ornaments she had been wearing on set. She was left with a flower tattoo on her arm for six months as a result, which took a while to fade.

The actress also revealed that she had been bitten by a rabbit on set. "They are not so cute apparently," she joked. Additionally, she spoke about wearing heavy lehengas weighing 30 kg for the film, saying that it was challenging to perform in them.

The film, which was originally shot in Telugu, will be dubbed for release in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Samantha expressed her admiration for her fellow actors. She said that delivering the dialogue was a difficult task. "I was delivering dialogues in my sleep. I hope I have done justice to the job," she said.

Despite the challenges, Samantha was pleased with the results of her efforts. She described the film's costumes, created by Neeta Lulla, as beautiful and noted that her character's long, curly hair was not her own. Fans of the actress can look forward to seeing her performance in Shaakuntalam when it hits theaters on April 14.
