Sameera Reddy Frustrated that kids have to see this: Corona lockdown
Breaking down on her last Instagram video, Sameera Reddy, mother of two, opened a discussion regarding the anxiety that kids face during such times of lockdown.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, people are being advised to practice social distancing and the nation is undergoing a 21-day lockdown to curb further spread of the virus. Starting March 25th, 2020 the restricted movement came into force, however, many responsible citizens have been on self-quarantine for longer than this. In this background, people are bound to deal with a lot of anxiety and uncertainty, both adults and kids.
Sameera Reddy, a famous Tollywood actress who last appeared on screen in 2013, wed Akshai Varde, an entrepreneur, in 2014. The couple gave birth to a baby boy in 2015 and a baby girl in 2019.
Sameera Reddy expressed her feelings regarding the lockdown in her latest post on Instagram. The actress went through a breakdown in the video. In the video, her words quote, “The most important thing I can tell you right now, the mental health of children is definitely not in the best space right now. And every child who is stuck in a lockdown is wondering deep down 'what the hell is going on'. I was talking to Hans two weeks ago because I knew this was coming and the stuff he told me, I realized maybe we are watching too much news around him. Imagine if we have so much anxiety, how much anxiety do kids have? Akshai and I are talking among ourselves, preparing ourselves for this but we didn’t realize that this little boy.”
Her main concern, as she said “He is...It is so frustrating, it is just frustrating that kids have to see this. You want to make them feel safe, you want to make them feel loved. So what can we do? What can we mommies do?"
She went on to add, “I have put signs of deep anxiety in children on this post. Please look at it. Even if your kid is a bit short right now and impatient and cannot handle this, talk and just be there for them. Make them feel safe, just be honest. Give things to do but a routine is just not going to do it. It’s gonna cut it if you are actually there for them. This is a time for that, this is a time for that.”
