On the 42nd anniversary of their mother Nargis Dutt's passing, actors Sanjay Dutt and Priya Dutt remembered her. Sanjay and Priya posted nostalgic images to Instagram on Wednesday to honor their mother.

Sanjay posted a photo of himself as a child with Nargis and Priya on Instagram. A young Sanjay grinned and gazed at the camera in the monochrome image. Nargis smiled at her daughter and held her hand as she sat next to them, with Baby Priya curled up on his chest. Sanjay was seen in the picture sporting a striped T-shirt, while Nargis was dressed in ethnic attire. The post's caption read,

His wife Maanayata Dutt replied to the tweet with red heart emojis. A supporter said, "Aww lovely pic." Someone added, "Baba is always cute."

Priya created a video collage on Instagram and attached a note to it. Nargis, her actor husband Sunil Dutt, Sanjay, Priya, and Namrata Dutt were all in several old photos on the collage. "Losing you at a very young age impacted my life but the few years I spent with you made a greater impact", she wrote.

She added, "You taught me love and compassion, you taught me to smile through adversities and see the positive in everything. These were my life's most important lessons. I know you are always With me as my beautiful guardian angel. Love you forever." 'My Guardian Angel' sticker was also added by her. Without adding a caption, Priya just wrote, "1/06/1929 - 3/05/1981."

Nargis and Sunil fell in love following a fire break out on the set of their 1957 film Mother India. On March 11, 1958, the couple exchanged vows and received three children: Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt, and Namrata Dutt. Nargis received a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in the early 1980s and passed away not long after.

Priya described how Sunil changed following Nargis' passing in an interview with Filmfare in 2018. Our relationship with our father also weakened when mum passed away, she had remarked. He used to be strict with discipline. Films were never a topic of conversation in our dining room. However, he underwent a complete transformation following the death of their mother. He recalled a lot of things about her. He had said, ‘People say I fell in love after I saved her from the fire on the set of Mother India. But I’d have saved anyone else as well. I fell in love with the woman she was.
