Social dramas seem to be the flavor of the season these days. Every odd film makes it a point to spout some good sermons about the day-to-day happenings. Now, another social drama is all set to be made in Kollywood. Director Thirumalai Baluchamy has put announced his upcoming film, which is a social drama that will deal with the water crisis. The film will feature Sarathkumar Suhasini Mani Ratnam in lead roles. Apart from these two stars, the untitled film will also feature Nandhaa, debutant actress Ashwathi, Singam Puli, and Ganja Karuppu in important roles.
In an interview with The Times of India, director Thirumalai said, "The film is set in an arid place, where people battle water shortage. I come from Ramanathapuram and I’ve faced such difficulties. We’ve faced so many issues that even Kollywood hasn’t shown yet. So, I am including those things that people haven’t seen before. While Sarath Kumar sir plays the lead role as someone who returns to his hometown from a foreign country, Suhasini ma’am plays his wife. When I wrote the script, I felt only Sarath sir and Suhasini ma’am could pull off these roles. Both of them have traveled across Tamil Nadu and have wide knowledge about various cultures, too.”
