It has been several years since director Selvaraghavan had a proper release in the last 10 years. His film Nenjam Marapathillai was wrapped up over four years ago. However, the film had to wait for a proper release due to several financial hiccups. The Covid-19 pandemic has now pushed the makers to solve the production issues amicable and it is reported that the film might get a release on the OTT platform in a few days. An official confirmation on the same is yet to be announced by the filmmakers. Nenjam Marapathillai is a horror film starring SJ Suryah, Regina Cassandra and Nandita Sweta.
In a recent interview with a noted publication, Selvaraghavan said, "If you ask me what has been the most challenging part of the film, I’d say it was the waiting time of four years. It’s none of our faults. It had been cruel, very tough for us. Particularly for the actors, who have all done some phenomenon work. To give our best and then wait for so long has been tough. SJ Suryah is extremely sweet. He was there on the set as just an actor. He surrendered himself completely to the script. He was my first choice for the role, and when you see the film, you will know why. Even Regina and Nandita were my first choices for the film. We all worked really hard for this film, shooting day and night non-stop for 60 days.”
