Selvaraghavan's long-pending film Nenjam Marappathillai released in theatres after nearly five years of wait. Though the film received mixed reactions from the audience, it also assured that Selvaraghavan is here to stay. In fact, it is said to say that the release of Nenjam Marapathillai has given a major boost to Selvaraghavan himself. Recently, Selvaraghavan has announced back to back projects with his brother Dhanush. He announced that he will direct the much-anticipated Aayirathil Oruvan 2 with Dhanush which will release in the year 2024. He also surprised the audience by announcing another film titled Naane Varuven.
For Naane Varuven, Selvaraghavan is yet again collaborating with his brother Dhanush. Recently, he took to Twitter to reveal that he is working on the pre-production of the film. He wrote, "Never worked on preproduction of this scale! Gearing up for the shoot! #Naanevaruven (sic)." Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his banner V Creations, the film's technical crew consists of composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematographer Arvind Krishna. The trio had earlier worked in films such as Kadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai and Thulluvatho Ilaimai.
