Shahid Kapoor is one of the popular stars in Bollywood who is the showbiz for the last 17 years. But somehow, he failed to get into the list of superstars of the industry. Many of his films either underperformed or only got critical acclaim. Finally, the actor got his due with last year's blockbuster Kabir Singh. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, this film went on to become the second highest-grossing film in Hindi last year. It was an official remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Currently, Shahid is acting in Jersey, which is the remake of a Telugu film of the same name. If the latest grapevine is anything to go by, Shahid chose to remake another South Indian film after Jersey. He will be acting in the Hindi remake of Suriya's upcoming movie Soorarai Pottru.
Directed by Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru is a semi-biographical drama of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath. The film was actually slated for the release in summer but got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The new release date will get announced once the theaters reopen across the country. Even before the film has hit the theaters, Shahid decided to remake it in Hindi. We are still not sure who will be helming this project in Bollywood. More details of it will get revealed soon.
Shahid is currently spending time at home due to the lockdown. He will resume the shoot of Jersey once the situation comes back to the normal state.
