Shahid Kapoor has reportedly signed another film, a script he has been looking for a long time, and it has been helmed by none other than Sujoy Ghosh. The director who has earlier made films like Kahaani and Badla has finalized Shahid Kapoor to play the lead role in his next film. According to a report on a popular website, "Shahid and Sujoy have been speaking about a potential collaboration for a while now and things seem to have fallen in place. Shahid has liked the script and if all goes as planned, the film will go on floors this year itself," a source told the website.
Shahid is currently busy with his upcoming web series on Amazon Prime. As soon as he wraps up shooting for the same, he will be shooting for Sujoy Ghosh's project, followed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's Karna. "Shahid is flooded with multiple offers, and he is being extremely careful about the scripts that he is associating himself with. While the actor wants to do commercial stuff, he is careful that it doesn’t belong to the run-of-the-mill world. After wrapping up the Sujoy Ghosh film, he is expected to move onto the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directed, Karna, which is an epic produced by Ronnie Screwvala," added the source.
The actor has been basking in the success of his previous films such as Kabir Singh and Padmavat as both of them did well at the box office. His upcoming film Jersey, which is a remake of the Telugu film, hasn't got a date of release yet due to the pandemic.
