Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor is all set for her Bollywood debut. Karan Johar, who is famous for introducing new stars to Bollywood will produce her film debut. Karan Johar had announced the collaboration with Shanaya earlier this year in March. However, the film’s preparations had to postpone due to Covid 19 surge.
Latest reports suggest that Shashank Khaitan will direct the film produced by Karan. The film will also remark the debut of Lakshya Lalwani. Lakshya was earlier supposed to make his debut with Karan Johar’s Dostana 2.
Shanaya will star alongside Pirzada and Lakshya Lalwani in this new film. Reportedly, the film is a lighthearted urban triangle love story. The filming for the upcoming project will begin in Mumbai in December.
In the previous few months, the film has undergone significant transformations. According to sources, the rom-com was set to be directed by Paras Chakravarti. Now, Khaitan has already taken over the project and will begin planning it soon.
Earlier, Karan Johar had shared Shanaya Kapoor's first ad film on Instagram. The ad had received much appreciation from the internet.
Shanaya has worked as assistant director on her cousin, actor Janhvi Kapoor's movie Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. Sanjay had previously confirmed that she will join the film industry but was waiting for the right project.
