Shankar and Ranveer Singh collaborates for Aparichithudu remake
It is official now. Maverick director Shankar Shanmugam and Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh are collaborating for the remake of blockbuster social drama, Aparichithudu (Anniyan in Tamil) which released back in 2005.
Shankar and Ranveer Singh officially announced the project a short while ago and they seemed to be very much excited about the same.
“In this moment, no one will be happier than me, bringing back the larger than life cinematic experience with @RanveerOfficial in the official adaptation of cult blockbuster Anniyan,” Shankar tweeted. He even shared a snap featuring himself, Ranveer Singh, and the producer, Jayantilal Gada.
Ranveer Singh seems to be pumped up about working with Shankar whom he calls “Visionary of Indian cinema”.
“Proudly announcing my collaboration with the pioneering visionary of Indian cinema, the maverick master craftsman SHANKAR @shankarshanmugh powered by veteran film producer Dr. Jayantilal Gada @jayantilalgada @PenMovies,” Ranveer tweeted.
This as-yet-untitled heavy-budget social drama will start rolling next year and more details about the same are under the wraps for now. It will be one of the costliest projects in Indian cinema and will be mounted on a massive scale. The unit says the film be getting a pan-India release.
Shankar is currently busy with RC15, starring Ram Charan. This project will start rolling this June and Dil Raju is bankrolling it. The much-awaited political thriller will be out in the theaters later next year.
