Piracy is a threatening issue for the Indian film industry for the last many years. It still haunts many big-budget films and it still prevails in the real world, despite many efforts to curb it. The pirates just take one or two days from the release to float the pirated version online. The latest Pongal releases are also facing this issue now.
In a shocking incident, Superstar Rajinikanth's latest film Darbar has also become a victim of piracy and adding to the wound, it has got telecasted on a local TV channel in Madhurai. The producers were shell-shocked with the incident and immediately filed a case on the channel.
Lyca Productions, which has bankrolled Darbar, has released an official press note today stating that a complaint has got filed on the Madhurai based channel called Saranya TV. In the press note, Lyca has mentioned that Saranya TV aired Darbar on their channel on 12th January. The makers said that they are quite astounded and distressed to know this news. They added that the appropriate authorities will take necessary action on the culprits. Hopefully, the authorities take strict action so that the local channels would never repeat such crimes in the future.
