The lockdown has put a halt to all film and television productions. However, Kabza director and producer R Chandru continuing to work on his film that stars actor Upendra. He says "the show must go on." “But with precautions,” he adds.
Kabza is an action drama that is set in the 1980s. It is an underworld themed film. The film will come out in Kannada and Telugu. The dubbed version will come out in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi, and Bengali. The poster for the film came out during the quarantine period.
R Chandru says he as finished editing 40% of the footage. “Apart from editing, I have also gotten ready with the trailer and a teaser of the film,” says Chandru. “Fortunately, my residence and office are in the same building. I have 15 associates who are currently working on the director’s team, and we regularly started our work at 7 am. We are still following the same pattern, but not on the sets. We come online and discuss what needs to be done for the day,” he adds.
He says that he is in touch with Upendra and has been updating the actors. He said, “We had come up with a large jail set up at Minerva Mills, at a huge cost. We will resume shoot with the jail episode, as and when we get permission from the government.” The director hopes to resume shooting soon.
Apart from Upendra, the film also stars actors Kabir Duhan Singh, Kota Srinivas Rao, Jaya Prakash, Kaat Raju, Subbaraju, Avinash, and M Kamaraj.
