Singer Aryaana G says she would like to see some new changes brought in the genre of Bollywood songs.

Los Angeles based singer Aryaana G whose roots are grounded in Mumbai, India recently spoke to IANS and revealed a lot about her music taste and life. Aryaana G recently collaborated with rapper and songwriter O.T. Genasis on single titled Stockholm Syndrome.

The singer also spoke about her deeply personal love for music. She said, “I grew up witnessing my family’s love for music and started playing the piano at age 8. I’ve never been a fan of formal education and started working right out of school with music producer Rohit Kulkarni.”

Aryaana also commented on the modern Bollywood dance music and said that she wants to see some changes brought into the genre. She further added saying, “I’m not the biggest fan of the ‘newer age’ Bollywood dance music but I do sing Arijit Singh songs in my bathroom, even though I totally butcher them. I feel like Indian music requires certain vocal textures and lilts that I really wish I had.”

Aryaana also congratulated many independent musicians who have gained fame over the years despite the dominating presence of Bollywood’s music industry. She said, “I definitely do think it’s mainly Bollywood music-driven but it’s certainly changing. Independent musicians are getting more outspoken and bold which makes me so happy to see. They’re also getting a lot more recognition and respect now. It gives me so much more confidence too.”
